It’s that magical time once again! The Seattle International Film Festival is upon us and it’s time to take that yearly cinema vacation to exotic lands without ever having to leave Seattle. I know that SIFF can sometimes seem overwhelming with its embarrassment of cinema riches, but they really do make it easy to find a film you might enjoy by allowing folks to browse by genre, country or director on their website. And you can even order tickets online so there’s no need to worry about tickets selling out in advance or having to stand in line at the box office in the rain. SIFF also makes it easy for folks who might not live right in Seattle to still catch a film or two by scheduling films at theaters in Bellevue, Renton and Kirkland as well as at their Seattle standbys, the Egyptian, the Film Center, the Uptown, Pacific Place and, for its last hurrah as a movie house, the Harvard Exit. We’ll miss your excellent lobby and historic feel, though, as a short person, I will not miss your lack of pitch in the seating.
