As last year’s Drawlloween challenge was so, uh, invigorating? Challenging? Got me drawing after a dry spell? I decided to do it again this year! I’m changing it up a bit and doing, as David S. Pumpkins would say, my own thing. And the Cinerats? Part of it! This year I made themed weeks: Witches, Creatures, Vampires and Ghosts, during which I will do a short profile of one film from those various horror subgenres each weekday and add a longer, more in-depth comic examination of a film on the weekends. I am also going to finish out the month’s two extra days with profiles of Tobe Hooper and George Romero, two legends of horror directing who passed away in 2017. George Romero, in particular, is near and dear to my heart as a Pittsburgh native myself. I shopped for school clothes every year at the mall in the original Dawn of the Dead. And, seriously, if you’ve ever been to Monroeville, you know they really didn’t have to add too much costuming and makeup on the locals who acted as extras to get them to look seriously undead. Shudder.

Happy hauntings! And I hope you, me, and my wrists survive OCTOBERWEEN DAILY COMIC CHALLENGE!
